We strive to avoid potentially hazardous substances in our products and processes and favour eco-friendly materials. Most of our products are up to 99% recyclable and we include the right raw materials to maximise the life of a product and its parts.
Life Cycle Assessment
Steelcase was the 1st company in the office furniture industry to carry out Life Cycle Assessment when designing new products. A LCA measures the environmental impact of a product’s materials, production, transport, use and end of life.
Recycle and reuse
To minimise the amount of waste put into the landfill, we ensure recyclability of components and organise "Re-use" channels for products.
Our products and materials are submitted for approval by international certification schemes, including, NF Environnement, Blauer Engel, Cradle-to-Cradle, PEFC, E1, Oeko Tex and the European Flower.
